There are 2 ways to set auto-replies.
- Via Plesk when you have a hosting package with email included
- Via webmail when you have only email package with us
- Via Plesk
If you have the hosting package, first you need to log in to Plesk, and have an email account created (check out our article for instructions).
After creating an email account, for example email@yourdomain.com, we can personalize as we want.
Forwarding an email
We can set a forwarding address, an auto-reply, create email aliases and also filters for specific email addresses you might consider unwanted as spam.
On forwarding, it is possible to select if you want to keep a copy on the original inbox or not, and enter more than one email to forward the message at once. Example:
I am turning on the forwarding from email@yourdomain.com to the 2 emails mentioned, and keeping a copy on the original inbox.
Switching the auto-reply on
After turning the auto-reply on, you can personalize it.
You can set if you would like a text message or an HTML message, the specific message to be sent and also block the system to not send the auto-reply more than once in a day to the same destination.
You can also set a specific date so the auto-reply will be turned off or let it once until you decide to turn it off.
- Via Webmail
If you have only the email package, log in to your email account through https://webmail.yourdomain.ext
Once you are in your inbox:
- Click in settings
- Filter
- Create
- Under scope select ALL MESSAGES
- And then the action: reply with message
Then you can create your auto-reply and also different messages for different senders as well, you just need to change the scope, how you are filtering the messages.
You will need to create 2 different filters for different messages.
You can also create a separate filter to forward all your emails to your personal email as well.
You can select which email is sending the message out, and for how many days you want to use the auto-reply.
After saving, the filter will start performing according with the parameters set.
The filter also works to block or forward specific emails.
