To set up mailing via your own domain in Outlook, you must perform the following steps:
- Open Outlook
- Open the wizard for adding an account via "File - Add Account"
- Enter the email address, click on "Advanced options" and check "Let me set up my account manually"
- On the next screen, choose IMAP. The screen will now automatically jump to a blank version of the screen as below. Accept these settings. (NOTE: the checkmarks for SPA must be OFF)
IMAP server: mail.yourdomainprovider.net
Port: 993
Encryption: SSL/TLS
SMTP server: mailout.yourdomainprovider.net
Port: 587
Encryption: STARTTLS
- after a "Next" the password must be entered and the e-mail address is added to Outlook.
It is recommended to check the settings. This is currently not possible within Outlook, but must be done within the (old) Control Panel.
The easiest way to get there is to first press the Windows button and then type Control panel (for an English Windows) or Control panel (if using a Dutch Windows).
If you are using the web browser, you need to open your account, click in SETTINGS and then VIEW ALL SETTING
Click on Email > Sync Email > Manage or choose a primary alias
A verification will be needed due security purposes. Click to add an alias:
Select an existing email and enter your personalized email.
You are all set!
